lol good to know that everyone that's taken a photography coarse is pretty
much in agreement...they're worthless. But anywho, like everyone else on here
has probably said, I really do love you photos. I love the use of grain in you
photos.. that's not something that you see very often anymore.. seems that photographers
are now going for the more smooth anti-noise/grain photos and whenever there's
grain in it everyone's like 'Holy crap! go take all that grain outta that sucker!'
But i don't know, it was a really nice touch to all of your photos. I really
liked photo #01002 as well.. very interesting shadows and use of light. hah
I'm probably ranting or rambling by now... but if you're ever in Dallas it'd
be cool if you looked me up or something. I'm still trying to improve in photography
(lol I gotta get a new camera too... right now I'm still using a point and shoot

especially #01004, #01018, and #02001. I think #01018 is the best. you should
come to grand rapids, michigan on a photography tour type thing. there is a
lot to photograph here and downtown grand rapids is the place to be, very indie,
urban, and individual. there is more personality to grand rapids than you would

convey that certain hard-to-capture feeling, a mix of merriment and relaxation

i really love your work. my sister is a photographer in Boston and though her
work is a little different in the way she focuses on portraiture. she has used
me a model for many of her assignments in her classes. my favorite images are
#01009 because it reminds me of the times when all my sisters come home for
a weekend and we just chill. i also love #01022 because i will never be too
old to sit on the top of a swing set. of course im only 14 (almost fifteen)

so i live with becka english. i believe she lived with your sister (photo #01033)
at some point in life. we're both in the Philippines right now doing missions/midwifery/schooling...
so now that im done with my mad name dropping skills... she was checking out
the site on my computer and i was snooping over her shoulder (come on, who could

stuff.... and such a small world. i came about 2inches from buying tix to one
of the anberlin shows before i even met becka. nothing personal about not going,

I looked at everything here in your website, and every picture had me shaking
my head, wanting to know how you can take photographs of such simple things,

anyway, micah was talking to me about your site and i met your brother nate
the other day
so i decided to visit, ultimately [and obviously] deciding to comment.
as i was clicking through the pictures, i had an odd admiration for your pictures
that i couldn't really figure out mostly because there is nothing super extravagant,
shocking, or confusing about your photographs, and i kept saying, "what
is it that makes me love these pictures so much?" and then it occurred
to me that they are all familiar to me. i felt like i'd been to those places,
met those people, seen those things. but i haven't.
so really what you've done here, parker is captured the simplest beauty of
life and that is something that
1)people love to look at and admire because they feel like they are a part of
it, like they helped you make that picture. it's approachable, it's familiar,
it's warm and
2)it teaches. it points out the bare naked beauty of an ordinary day, or a plain
face-instructing people on how to recognize it with their own eyes, not just
through a lens. so you're not just doing something you're
good at, you're changing people, whether they know it or not.
well i've definitely made this entirely too long and have rambled away in my thoughts, but i just wanted you to know that i loved it and i hope that this will *always be more than a "hobby" for you.

Parker, bro.... seriously good stuff, helped me relax and escape my jammed life
for a bit. The people pictures made my heart hurt. I miss you guys, I feel alone
in a way. There are no alumni that I connected with anywhere in the vicinity.
I did meet a guy the other day I hadn't seen in a while and he was the year
before me, still, sometimes I wish I could just freeze my life in a frame and
have the stillness of that moment last forever. With my friends, I think eternity
in a good moment would not be regrettable.
On a side note. I was hiking the other day in the chimneys (a hike in the smokies)
which is about an hour from my house, and it was a truly amazing time. We went
upwards of a mile or so and could see possibly the best east coast scenery ever.we
then hiked down the back side of the mountain, and some of the moments will
be etched in my mind forever as we blazed a trail and slipped by deaths door
by a matter of inches, literally.
oh and I don't know if you remember swimming with me in the lake, but thanks
to that and other swimming endeavors I may join the UT club swim team. Good
times, heheh you in your chonies. WAWAWAWA

everyone wants validation, but few realize that the reason they don't have a
healthy amount of it in their lives is because they don't "get out there"
and make solid attempts to express the hearts and souls that are inside of them.
when one actually does at least some of the more significant things that he
or she is designed to do (and everyone knows at least a few of what those are),
the validation (or appreciation) eventually comes from somewhere or someone
because that person can finally be seen for what he or she is.
this, i am learning lately, and i have a lot more areas of my life to apply
it in.
that said, i accredit you as much more than a person who simply wows and inspires
me with his artistic expressions, but as an open soul that i feel i can always
CONNECT with.
there is an inherent gift which every young i have met to date has had. maybe
it could be labelled "CONNECTING," for it seems to me that all who
enter your house or bump into any of you anywhere are welcomed in far beyond
the universal formalities and even cordialities... they are allowed instant
access to the invisible--to the spirits of strengths and weaknesses inside of
you, and perhaps even into the Spirit of God (where true Life is) because of
that.
i don't really know what else to say...
your sight has convicted me of sin and of standard, in all honesty, and without
exaggeration.
i could not be more proud (but i'm sure i will continue to be in the future).
a HUGE "BRAVO" to you and what you do, and i hope to be blessed with
more opportunities to see it and you.

thanks for sharing, because even though i know it's only a sliver of what's
